Frequently Asked Questions
When and where will the wedding take place?
The wedding will take place on Friday 12th March 2027, with the exact itinerary to be determined. The ceremony and reception will both be held at Masía Mas Coll in Alella, which is a 30-minute drive from Barcelona. You can see more details about the venue on the Wedding page.
Will the event take place inside or outside?
We will have exclusive access to the farmhouse all day, including two outdoor spaces and three indoor spaces. Weather permitting, we will hold the ceremony and cocktail hours in the outdoor spaces, with the dinner and evening party indoors. Guests will be able to go outside for breaks throughout the evening.
What will the weather be like during the event?
The winter/spring weather in Barcelona and surrounding areas can be unpredictable. In March, there is an average daytime temperature high of 16°C and low of 9°C, with around 5 days of rainfall across the month. It’s important to be aware that, when it rains, it absolutely pours. If the weather permits, we will host the daytime events, including the ceremony and cocktail hours, outside, with the remainder of the day inside.
How will food be served at the wedding?
We guarantee that you won’t go hungry during our big day! Shortly after the ceremony, a selection of cold and hot canapés, cheese and meat platters, and freshly cooked paellas or fideuás will be served during the cocktail hours. This will be followed by a 3-course banquet-style dinner, for which we will ask for your selections closer to the date. Note, children under 9 or 14 will be offered tailored menus. Later in the evening, we will provide some additional refreshments to keep you going!
Will you be able to cater to my dietary requirements?
As part of your RSVP, we will ask you to specify any dietary requirements or allergies you may have. The venue has assured us that they can cater to any dietary specifications, including but not limited to vegetarians, vegans, celiacs, allergies, etc. As a base, we hope to provide as many vegetarian and vegan options as possible. If you have any concerns, please do reach out to us!
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! There will be an unlimited supply of alcohol and soft drinks following the ceremony. During the cocktail hours, guests can enjoy a welcome drink, free-flowing cava, wine, beer, and soft drinks, and a mojito bar. Throughout the banquet dinner, guests can continue to enjoy local cavas, wines, beers, and soft drinks. From the evening onwards, guest can additionally order from a selection of spirits.
What should I wear to the wedding?
Dress to the nines! Or however you feel most comfortable. Just make sure to check the weather forecast closer to the time as we will host the ceremony and cocktail hours outside if no rain is forecasted.
Will guests be permitted to take photos during the event?
During the ceremony, we ask guests to please remain unplugged and let the photographer work their magic. Afterwards, we encourage you to take photos and to share with us after the event.
Will there be transport provided to or from the wedding?
We are investigating coach transport options between Barcelona and the venue in Alella. We will contact guests nearer the time to gauge transport needs. Guests can also book individual taxis from Cabify, Freenow, Uber, and local providers. We will signpost all available transport options nearer the event.
Is there parking provided at the farmhouse?
Yes, if you are renting a car to the farmhouse, there is a large carpark that can be used throughout the day.
Will additional activities be organised before or after the wedding?
Yes! We are planning to organise a calçotada as well as a post-wedding get together. We will contact guests closer to the time to gauge interest.
Are there any travel/visa requirements to Spain?
All people entering Spain will need to ensure that their passport is less than 10 years old, and has at least 3 months until it expires. Note, if your passport’s expiry date is more than 10 years after the start date, it will be refused.
For non-EU citizens, including UK citizens, the EU is bringing in a new travel authorisation, ETIAS, in late 2026. Please make sure you check for updates and apply for the ETIAS, if necessary, when available.
If you are travelling from outside the UK or EU, please check whether you require a visa or other authorisations to travel.
Where should I book accommodation?
Guests are encouraged to book accommodation in either Barcelona (city), Badalona, or Alella. There may be other suitable options accessible along the Costa Brava according to your preferences. We have made a list of recommendations for accommodation on the Accommodation page.
How long should I book accommodation for?
It is completely up to you! You will need to be in or close to Barcelona for at least Friday and Saturday. We also plan to organise some activities in the days before and after the wedding.
